Chicago Sunday Brunch

I know it's been asked 100 times but I'm asking again. Would like recent input on Sunday Brunch in downtown Chicago. Would prefer a buffet (we're on Atkins and really like our meat, eggs & cheese). Anyone recently been to Dick's Last Resort? How about House of Blues? Any other suggestions? Thanks in advance.

anyone?

Some that come to mind are The Signature Room at the 95th. It's pricey, but worth it for the protein selection. Or, on the other hand consider Wishbone which serves southern soul food. There's all kinds of whacky art on the walls and a very pierced waitstaff. Erwin serves pork tenderloin and eggs, and another one I was told about is named Lou Mitchell's. I went to the House of Blues Sunday brunch buffet in LA and I think if you are still on the protein no carbs portion of Atkins you won't have much variety to choose from.

Lou Mitchells isn't a buffy but definately a legendary breakfast stop in Chicago with all the breatfast fixings-protein selections as well. Ina's in the West Loop is great for breakfast too. The menu is at breadfastqueen.com.

Merilee-
Have you tried the Signature for the daily lunch buffet or just the Sunday Brunch?

CD, here's the website, it'll answer most if not all your questions:http://www.hob.com/venues/clubvenues...spelbrunch.asp

Thanks for the link Kristi. Unfornately most of the places they list are in the suburbs. And for some reason why I clicked my name, this thread was not there. It's back now, must have been some sort of gliche. So now I've had some input on HOB, how about Dick's Last Resort?

swalter518 Nov 11th, 2003 07:50 AM

I've only been to Dick's at night. It's ok, not great from what I remember. Don't have any idea about their brunch though. You may want to check with you're hotel when you get in town to see if they have any recommendations.

The eight listed at the top though are all in Chicago, Lakeview, River North, etc. are all neighborhoods, not suburbs.

If you are coming around the holidays, there may be some brunch info on www.metromix.com in the coming weeks although they usually publish it in the spring around Easter/Mother's Day. You could try doing a search out there for brunch, I couldn't find a good article but I might have overlooked it.

Thanks for all your responses. We're going this weekend so I just wanted to check for any last minute ideas.

Thank you,

Any place BUT Dick's Last Resort..unless you like your brunch in a touristy frat house!
HOB is a great choice (make reservations). Check www.metromix.com for current reviews.
