I gave you bad information on where to get off the train. I was thinking about the redline. I believe there is a stop on Lake Street between LaSalle and Clark - you would still need to walk (or take cab if you have luggage) a few blocks north to your location.
It looks like it is supposed to be a nice week - mid 70s. However, Friday it is supposed to drop down into the 60s and rain. I think you have been to Chicago before though so you probably know it is very unpredictable no matter what the forecast so I would make sure you have a light jacket especially for the evenings. Have fun!

Thanks for your help! First time to Chicago and travelling by myself. Kinda nervous, more excited. Seeing Oprah, Lion King, J Hancock Observatory, Art Institute, Field Museum, Shedd, Berghoff's, Marshall Fields, Cafe Iberico --- more on the fly. Still taking recommendations!

As Cerlaurie stated, you would get off the blue line at the Clark and Lake stop. It's about three quarters of a mile from that stop to 739 N. LaSalle. An alternative to walking or cabbing from there is to walk upstairs and transfer to the brown line and take that north to the Chicago Avenue stop, which is at Chicago and Franklin, about 3 blocks from your destination.

When you get off at Clark and Lake, walk 1 block west to LaSalle Street. Clark Street is one-way, the wrong way, downtown. The LaSalle bus (151) goes where you want to go. You want the stop at Superior Street(side street, flower shop on corner) or Chicago Avenue (800 North, major street, can't miss it).
You can do the blue line to brown line transfer, but it is a lot of stair climbing. A cab is quick, easy, and about $5.
