Chicago restaurants
Hi,
Looking for a steak restaurant in Chicago. We'll be staying on the Magnificant Mile and the night in question we'll be going to see the Lion King. So a restaurant either around Rush or in the theater district would be perfect. We can walk to Rush or take a cab to the theater district, so parking isn't a problem and any price range would be ok too. Thanks. Frank |
I would suggest Chicago Chop House. You can walk quite easily as it is only a block or two west of N Mich Ave.

312 restaurant is right around the corner in the same building. I would not recommend eating there as it is noisy, but what we did was go in to the bar for after dinner drinks while we waited for the doors to open to the theater. |
My favorite place for steak is Wildfire, a more casual restaurant at 159 W. Erie. They have an awesome horseradish crusted filet. I have walked there from Michigan Avenue but it's a bit of a hike, probably 1/2 way between Michigan Avenue and the theatre.
Other options are the Chicago Chop House which was mentioned above, Lawry's is great if everybody on your party wants prime rib (basically all they serve and what they do best). I've never been to Gibson's or Morton's, both are mentioned frequently as top places to go. Petterino's might be another option, it is within walking distance of the Palace Theatre at 150 N. Dearborn. I've never tried it, every time I've tried to get reservations it's been booked solid, probably because of it's location near all the theatres. |
My favorite steak houses in Chicago are Morton's and Chicago Chop House. I think Gibson's is way overrated.

although it would be a cab ride, Gene and Georgetti's is the quintessential chicago steak house.

Keefer, Sullivan's and Rosebud's steakhouse are all walkable to the lionking
