Chicago restaurant recs?

Any opinions on the following restaurants in Chicago?

Sushi:
Kamehachi (prob. the Westin River North location)
Mirai
Oysy

Other:
Cafe des Architectes (in the new Sofitel)
Le Bar (ditto)

These will be expense account dinners, so not *too* worried about cost. I'll be in Chicago the week after Thanksgiving and thinking of doing these on the week-end right after the holiday.

Cant speak personally for these restaurants, but if possible, make reservations. It's a busy weekend and week in chicago. there is a huge medical convention there every year the week after Thanksgiving (the words expense account made me think you are probably connected to this conference) and the hotels and restaurants are jammed. We spend many thanksgivings in Chicago but always leave by Saturday because of the convention.

I don't know anything about these restaurants but check out www.metromix.com for reader reviews on these.

Thanks, Rachel and Cerlaurie. Actually, I will be in town for that convention (my 15th year in a row), so yes, it does get quite busy! I checked the Metromix site. Cafe des Architectes gets a nice review and I like the new Sofitel, so I think this might be a nice change from all the usual suspects.
I see that Kamehachi moved into Spruce's old spot. What happened to Spruce? Did it fold? or move?

Afraid I haven't tried any of those but I wanted to mention that you can book Cafe des Architectes online at www.opentable.com, it still looks like they are wide open for Thanksgiving weekend but I would reserve in advance as has been mentioned.

BTilke,
I agree with the others..once you have narrowed down where you would like to go, make a reservation ASAP:)

Cafe des Archictes, went there for my bday dinner and it was very nice! The interior of the restuarant is amazing as well as the hotel itself...the food was very good and the bread with olive spread they give you is awsome! so i recommend it..

Mirai, very good sushi place, but might I recommend her new restaruant called Japonais on Chicago and Halsted...its french and japanese and JUST opened to VERY good reviews! I havent tried it yet, but we are planning to go soon..

Hope this helps!

Expensive, but worth it... a place called "Tru". Very upscale, fusion, modern menu. Excellent dinner.
