Chicago Restaurant Near Art Institute

Could someone please recommend a nice place for lunch within walking distance to the Art Institute. Thanks.

How nice? I highly recommend Rhapsody which is about a block away. It is pretty upscale but serves a less expensive lunch menu.

I went to the Rhapsody's web site and they are not open for lunch on Saturday's. Thanks for the recommendation, we'll keep it in mind for another time.

Sorry about that - I didn't realize that they were not open for lunch on Saturdays. I always go during the week. I would then recommend the Atwood Cafe at the Hotel Burnham. My husband and I also like Russian Tea Time which is right next door to Rhapsody. I have also heard (but not eaten there) that the restaurant at the Art Institute (Restaurant on the Park - not the Court cafeteria) is very good. My sister and her boyfriend ate there and enjoyed it.

How about the restaurant in the Art Institute? How "nice" were you thinking? Upscale, or...?

cd, After a tough afternoon of absorbing culture at the Art Inst., we hoofed it down to The Berghoff and had a good lunch. Only a few blocks away.
Oh and the beer was good, too. ;^)

hula, don't you have work to do?

Kal,

I'm trying to write a memorandum but it is so boring that I keep getting sidetracked! The Berghoff is a Chicago institution - great beer!

I think 99 left to go. Still trying to decide what day to leave!

My wife and I love the Berghoff. Food is a little hearty, but a true Chicago institution. We'll be going there this month for our annual christmas shopping day.
