Chicago restaurant
Husband and I will be in Chicago next weekend and on Friday night would like to take a friend to a nice restaurant near the Chicago Marriott. Would appreciate any suggestions that will not blow our entire budget on the first night. I know, they are all expensive!!

Thanks for your help.

Heaven on Seven, up Michigan Avenue (north) a few blocks. Fun atmosphere, good (cajun) food, and won't break the bank.
|
Hi Ellen,

When I stay At this hotel, I walk a few blocks down to Rosebuds - good Italian with great service.
|
I will second Rosebud's...just walk out the back / Rush St. side hang a right. It is only a few blocks.
|
For French food at reasonable prices (entrees approx. $15-$25) you may want to consider Brasserie Jo. It is a couple blocks south of the Chicago Marriott just west of Michigan Ave. See link below.

http://www.metromix.com/top/1,1419,M-Metromix-DiningReviews-venue!ArticleDetail-5353,00.html

enjoy your trip!

PF Changs is very good and not very expensive. It is at Grand & Wabash. But I also like both Rosebud and Heaven on Seven.
|
By the way, Heaven on Seven is on Rush Street not Michigan Ave.

Thanks to all of you for these great suggestions. It will be a tough decision, but I'm sure that either choice we make will be fine. We are really looking forward to this trip and plan to see many sights in the area. Even though we are driving, we will park the car for the entire time we are in Chicago. Now just pray for us as we come in Thursday afternoon on the Dan Ryan Expressway!!
