Chicago pre-theater dinner
 

Any suggestions for pre-theater dinnernear the Cadillac Palace in Chicago? Perhaps good appetizers & a glass of wine --- something light? Thanks

A great place about 5-6 blocks away in Marina Towers area is Bin 36 and it has a long list of appetizers and wines as well as a pre-theater dinner menu.<BR><BR>www.bin36.com<BR><BR>Great atmosphere, too, though it will be early enough not to be crowded.

Bin 36 is nice, but if you're going during the week it will be packed with the after work crowd. I'm guessing you're talking about a weekend, though.

312 is a great restaurant on the corner of LaSalle and Randolph right next to the theatre. There is also a wealth of great restaurants west on Randolph by about a mile. Check out chicagomag.com. Also, if you are coming in town, we just stayed at the Hotel Allegro which is connected to the Cadillac Palace and loved it. Dramatic theatrical decor and lots of fun.<BR>Enjoy Chicago. If you are going to see the Lion King and decide on 312 Chicago, make sure you have reservations. There are not a lot of restaurants in the immediate vicinity so that one will likely be crowded as it is on the same block.<BR><BR>Another option about 5 blocks away is the Atwood Cafe in the Burnham Hotel, 1 West Washington, website www.burnhamhotel.com.<BR><BR>A short cab ride can get you to a variety of restaurants-Greektown is not too far, you could try Cafe Iberico for Spanish tapas at 739 N. LaSalle, or the Randolph Street restaurants mentioned above (Red Light, Blackbird, Vivo, Marche to name a few) or Brasserie Jo at 59 W. Hubbard, menu at www.brasseriejo.com.<BR><BR>ttt means to the top

Trattoria No. 10 has a great happy hour. I think it is $7/8 and they have a small buffet but you can eat as much as you want. They have bread salad, fresh pasta made to order, shrimp, etc. It is at 10 N. Dearborn.
