chicago ORD to Loop

can anyone advise on car/limo service to downtown that is pretty reasonable and reliable? I see there are shuttles and of course subway. There will be 4 of us so I am wondering if reserving limo/car might work out cheaper than the shuttle.

There is a taxi line at ORD almost constantly, it might be easier just to hop into one of those. Depending on where you go I can't imagine there being much difference between taking a taxi and hiring a car service.

Totally agree- and not just in Chicago either.

It's better to take the taxi from the taxi line closely available.

Shuttles are not much cheaper, if at all, and then you would have to be stuck with two or three hotel stops, if not more, most of the time.

Thanks for all the feedback. I got some prices for limo service which work out to $49 ow as the cheapest so far. Does anyone know how much this route would be in a taxi? Do they charge x-tra for more than 2 people? Sounds like there are plenty of taxis but one big enough for 4 of us?

Minivans are commonly used as taxis. There should be a number of them in the taxi line.

and if there isn't one immediately available, you can talk to the guy who manages the taxi line and he'll help you get one. He's also helpful in finding a taxi that will 'really' take a credit card even though all are technically required to.
