Chicago - Japanese restaurant
What is the best Japanese restaurant in the downtown Chicago area?
Go to Kamehachi. There are 2 locations in Chicago- one on East Ontario Street or the one in the Old Town area on Wells Street.
I don't know about the Loop area but Kamehachi and Bob San in Wicker Park are excellent.
Chris

Thanks
Tsunami on Dearborn between Division and Elm...go upstairs to the Saki Lounge and relax on the comfy sofas while dining.
Tried Tsunami over the weekend and was disappointed. The fish was not very fresh but the entertainment was good (guy at the table behind us was - in a very loud way - trying to impress his date by regaling her with stories about how bad was his ex-wife)
hmmmmm...all us Gold-Coasters swear by it. Maybe it was an off night.
Maybe an off night

Maybe I lived in Japan too long

Maybe I just needed a martini

Anyway, I'll give it another go

Thanks
um, ok...whatever
There are some pretty negative reviews of Tsunami on metromix.com.
If I were you I would avoid the places gold-coasters choose.
Ok, Chicagogurl...I'll bite.
Why should people avoid the places the Gold-Coasters choose?
Because gold-coasters are a bunch of assholes.
I'm not saying anymore so don't ask me any questions. I don't feel like getting in anymore fights on this board.
Kamehachi - 1400 N. Wells (my favorite)
Bob San - 1805 W. Division (my new favorite)
Naniwa - 607 N. Wells (excellent)
Sai Cafe - 2010 N. Sheffield (excellent)
Any MORE fights on this board?
It is no wonder you have "fights" on this board with the language and name-calling you use.

No worries though.
You'll be happy to know that I now live in Europe and no longer live in the Gold Coast. I guess I am a European "a**hole" now.
