Chicago Hotels and websites
I would appreciate any feedback from anyone who has stayed at The Talbott Hotel or The Drake. I would also like feedback on the website www.cheaptickets.com. Their hotel rates seem to be cheaper than hotels.com but since I've never used them, I'm a little wary. Would appreciate this info asap since we are planning the trip fairly soon. Thanks in advance!

CheapTickets is acquired by Cendant Corporation (now Travelport Inc.).*
*Travelport operates over 20 leading brands, including Orbitz, an online travel agency; Galileo, a global distribution system (GDS); and GTA, a wholesaler of global travel content. Nothing to worry about. |
Thumbs down on the Drake. The lobby is quite nice, and I do sometimes meet friends there for drinks. And the location is great. But, in my one stay there, both my room and my friend's were really dingy and dirty. Far worse than other places at a similar price point. Weird stains on the walls. Bathrooms were rather gross. One day, there was an old mattress left sitting out in the hallway outside my room for at least 12 hours.

The Talbott is great. We always use Quikbook.com. We always seem to get the best rate and don't have to pay until we get there............A MAJOR PLUS!!!!!!!

See the other Chicago thread that is up right now.
Those 3 and Priceline I have used and I vouche that they work wonderfully. Yes, I love quikbook because you are not paying upfront. |
a second for quikbook and for the Talbott. The Talbott is a nice location just behind Michigan Avenue but more quiet and more of a "neighborhood". I have had family stay there for special occaisions when my own house couldn't hold them all and everyone has been impressed at the value for the money.
