Chicago Hotel on Michigan Avenue

In Chicago Aug. 6-9. I want a hotel on Michigan Avenue in the heart of everything, shopping, restaurants, etc. Nice, clean and good location a must - price secondary. Please give me suggestions.

They do not have a lot of frills but I like The River Hotel at Wacker and Michigan Ave. It is more of a business hotel so no pool, etc. However, very clean and the sheets feel like they have been ironed. A few feet to Michigan Ave in one direction and 2 short blocks in the other direction to the "L" at State/Lake.

The Omni - mini suites. @ Michigan and Huron across from Neiman Marcus. Walking distance to the John Hancock Tower.

Just about every major hotel in Chicago is on or off Michigan Avenue or in the Loop. If you're looking for "old world" Chicago hotels, The Drake, Palmer House, Blackstone and Hilton would be your options. Of those four, The Drake is the only one on the Mag Mile. The Hilton and Blackstone are on Michigan Avenue across the street from Grant Park and the Palmer is on State Street in the Loop, about two red line stops from the Mag Mile.
