Chicago help!

Daughter and I going to Chicago and don't know if we want to drive into the city to find a hotel. They seem expensive and don't know about parking. Would it be wise to stay at La Quinta by O'Hare and take the train in and out for two days? It seems to be much cheaper then hotels in the city. Please advise. Thanks.

Get a 4* hotel in the North Michigan Avenue zone via Priceline for the same price as you'd be paying for a La Quinta in the 'burbs.

Go to BetterBidding.com for help and assistance with your bid.

I think you'll be much happier out there and won't have to deal with the hassles of taking the train every day, leaving the hotel with everything you need for the whole day, and concerned about safety issues catching the train late at nite.

City parking is expensive and I do not recommend staying out at O'Hare. Are you flying to Chicago? If so, take a taxi and stay on or near the Mag Mile which is North Michigan Avenue. I've seen hotels being won on priceline for under $75 per night. You do not need a car to stay in Chicago.

We're leaving Wednesday morning and got the Hyatt Regency on North Michigan Avenue for 70.00 a night through Priceline. I've even seen it for less.

I wouldn't stay out near O'Hare. If you are flying into Chicago, no need to rent a car. Hop on the el or take a taxi downtown.

Parking is very expensive in the city, esp. if you park at the hotels.

Do try Priceline but check out winning bids at www.biddingfortravel.com before bidding to get an idea of what hotels and what prices people are getting them for. North Michigan Avenue is where most tourists stay but River North is also OK and hotels in the loop are generally OK as well, just be careful at night getting back to the hotel.
