Thinking of taking my daughter to Chicago for a fall break weekend...the weekend of the 23rd...Any tips?I was reading about a costume parade downtown?I think Chicago is so much fun and so east to get to...I would love for her (7years old) to experience it in the fall.Thoughts?

There are Halloween activities at Daley Plaza and Navy Pier, take a look at this link for some other ideas
http://www.877chicago.com/happenings.html www.metromix.com might also have some other ideas. |
There is also a new "Haunted Sanitarium" on the lakefront at Fullerton. It might not be suitable for 7 year olds, though. Some of these things are designed for kids of in junior high or older.
Cook County Forest Preserve used to have a Haunted Woods (at Devon and Milwaukee Aves.) that wasn't too scary for the 8-10 year old group. but you know your daughter best. |
Thanks so much for your replies..I absolutely love Chicago..have only been once on a girls trip but thought it was very cool..We were there last November ....I wanted to wait till holiday time to come this year but fall break is not that late. Where is Daley plaza?I think we are staying on Mag mile so I hope everything is close. Thanks!

Daley Plaza is very close to the State Street Marshall Fields. It's located on the south side of Daley Center at Randolph between Clark and Dearborn. You could cab it or walk south on Michigan to Randolph. Take a right on Randolph, walk past Fields 2 blocks--it's where the big Picasso is located.
