Chicago - Fake designer purses?
Is there anywhere in Chicago where I can find faux designer purses, similar to Canal Street in NYC?

Thanks!
|
Flea market which used to be on Maxwell street. It is called another name which I will not mention but it rymes with brew, name goes ***-town. They relocated it and not sure where it is now. They sell on week-ends, ask and you will find.
Thanks, coach! However, is there a place i can visit on a weekday? It won't be possible to be in chicago over a weekend.

Thanks again!
|
Are there any stores in Chicago similar to Filene's Bargain Basement in Boston?

That would be so cool. Thanks.
|
I would really like to know, too!
|
There was a Filene's Basement in Chicago, I'm not sure if its still there.
|
Filiens basement WAS located in a strip mall next to Woodfield Mall. I forget the name but its the green one. I think Filiens is still there.
|
Filene's is located across & just down the street from Water Tower Place. Close to the famous toy store - the name of which escapes me just now.
|
FAO Schwartz, but I think FAO closed.
|
There are two Filene's Basement locations. One is on Michigan Avenue up near Water Tower and one is on State Street down near Carson Pirie Scott. The last time I was there, I saw some very good bargains, including real Coach purses (larger styles) for $99 and Furla purses for $149.

Liz,

Even the current Filene's basement is not like the original "Basement".
The current company is not owned by the original owners.

The Filene's Basement now is really not much different from a T.J. Maxx or a Marshall's.

Does anyone remember the original "Basement" that carried merchandise from Lord & Taylor, Neiman's ,etc?
