Chicago breakfast joint

Does anyone know any good breakfast places, preferably on the water somewhere? We're staying at the Sofitel Water Tower, so not too far from their. My husband loves a good breakfast and I love a good view. I'll take suggestions of places not on the water, too. Thanks!

Try an eatery out on Navy Pier for breakfast. It will be a bit pricey, but you'll be able to view the lake.

Also, try checking for a breakfast cruise on board the Spirit of Chicago; or the Odyssey.

For local without the lake view, Four Seasons has an excellent Sunday Brunch. For low budget, but good food try
Le Peep (located near Harpo Studios)
and also Yolk (on South Michigan Avenue).

I don't think there are any places at Navy Pier that serve breakfast, other than maybe something in the food court.

Have brunch at the top of the Hancock building.

You can also try the Original Pancake House on E Bellevue, just a couple blocks from your hotel. No views, but good food.

If you're going on a Sunday, you can also North Pond Restaurant in Lincoln Park has brunch.

kasperlie, when you say breakfast "joint", are you looking for something inexpensive? What is your budget, per person?

If you are wanting something on the water - or high in the sky, such as the Signature Room - it won't be inexpensive, by any means.

Exiledprincess, very good catch on the word "joint". You are exactly right. I am not looking for an expensive lavish breakfast such as the Hancock or North Pond. I know about those places. The problem is not the expense, it's that I don't eat very much and don't particulary want to spend that kind of money and just nibble at my food. SO, with that said, I was kinda looking for something more along the lines of just really good food. I read about a place called "Orange" and wondered what anyone's opinion on that might be. I guess the view won't happen, but that's O.K.

The Corner Bakery -- there are a few locations. You could linger or eat quickly -- lots of choices. Gosh I love their pretzel bread!

Here's a tinyurl link to their website for locations:

I like their yogurt and fresh fruit (with granola) too. :D

Orange is in the South Loop. Good food without the attitude. In a low key location but safe and worth the eats.

Yolk another breakfast place is not that far from there.

Hope this helps.

Tempo Cafe -- too much food, but good and very popular.
