Elixir, Barrelhouse Flat, Drumbar, Bin 36

Just a few off the lists Chicagomag has.

Gibson's Steakhouse on Rush St. - absolutely the best steak house in the city and very interesting scene, with many celebrities and loud.

For lunch - Al's #1 Italian Beef on Taylor St., right next to UIC. A Chicago tradition.

Pizza - If I were you, I would not do the "famous" places in downtown area, instead I would head out to local neighborhood hangouts. You will be surprised at the quality of Chicago style pizzas there.

Finally, visit the ethnic neighborhoods and try one of the restaurants there. German, Polish, Mexican, etc.....

Have a great trip!

25 years old in Chicago, sounds like an opportunity to hit River North and Hubbard St. There are several bars and restaurants not far from there and if you are staying in the loop you are not far. Paris Club has decent food that can turn into a late night excursion in their upstairs bar. Frontera Grill and Mercadito arent very far if you like foodie type Mexican. There are many choices and the age group is about right.

Concur with the previous suggestion of Drumbar.

When shopping the Mag mile - stop into RL (Ralph Lauren) for a cocktail.

Chicago Pizza - Don't listen to your Concierge ever. I recommend two options that are very similar.
Since Rush street may be on your agenda - there is a new Lou Malnatis there.
Pizzanos on State is also very good. Small, quaint and can get crowded at times.

If the weather is nice you can sit outside at Cedar Hotel - on State St. right by Gibons steak House and Malnatis.

Skimountain~we must have had a fantastic concierge, because he was the one who recommended Lou Malnati's to us. :) It may have been because we asked him, "where do YOU like to eat," rather than, "what's good?"
