Chicago

Hi! I am going to be in Chicago June 1st-5th. My boyf will be attending the ASCO meetings at the McCormick Place, I however, will be tagging along having solo lunches. I would love some help on the best places to eat cheap or expensive. Also, if there is a restaurant outside (patio) in the Harbour or elsewhere I suppose I would like to go for amazing food and wine for my birthday lunch!!
Thanks for any help :)

There are several outdoor restaurants in the city. Here's a list published by one of the local tv stations: http://abclocal.go.com/wls/story?sec...nts&id=6898298

In addition, there's Terzo Piano (www.terzopianochicago.com) at the Modern Wing of the Art Institute of Chicago and nearby, Park Grill(www.parkgrillchicago.com) in Millennium Park that offers outdoor seating in the summer.

Banderra is a good indoor place for American food. Park Grill, Sweetwater for drinks and good bar food, and Quartino are good places to sit outside.

Yummy and pricey---Henri, Chicago Cut Steakhouse, Spiaggia (I loved this place way before Sarah from Top Chef:Texas), Sepia, The Girl and Goat.
Solo lunch/group dinner--The Gage (next door to Henri), Puck's Cafe at the MCA, Yolk, Lockwood, Tavern at the Park

Try Quay for good food and great outdoor eating. If you love Cuban (authentic) and cheap and homemade, you can't beat Cafecito. It's next to a youth hostel, so it's usually buzzing, but quite fun. I love Frontera, it's usually pretty easy to get in and eat at the bar. You can order of either their menu or the more upscale Topolobampo. You can also find Rick Bayless' cooking at Frontera Fresco in Macy's.
