ANd don't forget, if you have your car - whether or not you are actually staying downtown - parking is going to be stiff. Anywhere from $20-35 if you stay in the area...and if you drive in, you'll be looking at close to $20 a day to be rid of your vehicle.

We decided that the next time we drive into the city (former Chicagoans, now living in Wisconsin) that we will dump the car at one of those places near O'Hare that offer long-term parking for under $20 a day; take their shuttle to the airport and then take the airport train into downtown. I know it sounds like a bit of a hassle - and will be - but it beats parting with a small fortune to park the car downtown. Good luck to you - and do try P'line (does it work for canadians?) We recently had a fine hotel on Wacker just off Michigan for $65/nite (tho the room was tiny). If you're really committed to spending some casino time, it'd be wise to plan it on your way into, or back out of, the city. And save your city time for city-doings - there's so much to see and do in Chicago!
