Chestertown, MD/Accommodations

Has anyone stayed at Great Oak Manor? I have booked a 3 night stay for late May. Would appreciate hearing first hand information.
Many thanks!

I'm very interested in this inn also. Please write a trip report after you visit in May.

We just returned from a stay at Great Oak Manor. The inn is lovely, situated on 12 acres with unobstructed view of the Chesapeake Bay. Breakfast is included. The manor house is in pristine condition; the library is particularly attractive as are the grounds. There is a variety of restaurants within close proximity. Chestertown and Rock Hall are very closeby. If you like very laid back, relaxed surroundings, you may want to consider a stay at Great Oak Manor. Note: our friends stayed on the 3rd floor - the rooms are tiny. Rooms on the 2nd floor more spacious; most have excellent views.

Did you eat at any restaurants in the Rock Hall area? What activities did you do there? We are planning on going for two days in August.

Jorja,

Rock Hall is a tiny (but charming) town. Had lunch at local Marina (sorry cannot recall name). Due to inclement weather, we stayed close to Great Oak Manor. In Chestertown, we had dinner at Blue Heron (excellent - reservations essential on weekend nights - closed on Sundays). Harborside restaurant was good (not great) - very fresh fish and a chef/owner with a nice disposition.
My husband golfed at Queenstown (a 40 minute drive). Had hoped to sail, but weather did not permit. Appears to be outdoor activities - lots of folks on bicycles - the area is very tranquil.
