Central Park has the Chess and Checkers House at 65th. I also saw some tables in Bryant Park during my stay last week.

Thank you..we are probably going to try and fit in a trip to Washington Square, as it was featured in the Bobby Fischer movie. The hard part will be dragging my husband away! We girls will plan on touring the area while he is being entertained! We plan for Sunday, after a visit to the Today show set and lots of coffee!

The south west corner of Washington Square Park is where the chess players are. The North West corner has some scrabble players (featured in the movie/documentary 'Word Wars').
