This is a great place if you stay on hotel property or if you own a boat. The surrounding area and the close by city of Cambridge is not worth seeing as a tourist, IMHO.

Hi

The area around Cambridge Md is very, very laid back. It is a boater's haven but there's still much to do around there. St Michaels is within a half hour's drive and has a wealth of sightseeing available there with the new Maritime Museum finished and the great restaurants and shops and Oxford is also very convenient. There's great antiquing in the little towns around there and some of the best seafood available there too. If you need a good dose of people again - then head over to Ocean City for the day and get a great suntan and some Thrashers fries.

And..take a ride over to Rock Hall for some great crabs on the deck at Waterman's. Just the thought of Thrasher fires makes me want to be at the beach again.

We stayed at the Hyatt over Easter weekend. The spa was fully booked so I couldn't get a treatment. My husband loves golf, but he said that the course wasn't the greatest. The town of Cambridge is NOTHING. The food was very generic. On the plus side, our room was very nice and overlooked the water, there were ducks everywhere and nice areas to walk outside. THere are much better places to spend a few days on the Eastern Shore, I'd look into St. Michael's or Chestertown or even Bethany Beach, Delaware. You may even enjoy Annapolis, which is not on the Eastern shore but has alot of historic charm (exept in the summer when its overcrowded) good luck
