Chelsea Hotel - NYC
 

We're plning to visit NYC in October, and like the idea of staying in the Chelsea. Has anyone stayed recently? Any advice, warnings, recommendations about it?

Lets face it, the place is a renowned dump and I wouldn't recommend it unless you're staying there specifically as a fan of Sid Vicious, Quentin Crisp or any of the others who have stayed/lived there through the years. In its defense, there's some interesting bars and restaurants in the area, so it could be fun. <BR> <BR>And just in case you care, Sid & Nancy were in room 100.

It's not very upscale. You might want to choose something a little nicer and just visit the neighborhood. <BR> <BR>Actually the Hotel has been rearranged since Sid & Nancy stayed there. So you can't pinpoint a certain room as where the crime took place.

Who are Sid and Nancy? Are they regular posters?
