Cheesecake in NYC-Times Sq Area

Hi Everyone,

My husband and I are taking a last min trip to NYC and will be staying in the Times Sq. area. His birthday will be a few days later and cheesecake is his favorite dessert so I was thinking of celebrating his bday with a cake early. Is there a great place in that area to either have a slice or a place where I can buy a whole cheesecake? Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks in advance.

There's Zaro's and Jr.s Cheesecake, both are in Food Court of Grand central station on 42nd street. Both are DELISH!!!

Hope this helps...

Isn't there now another Junior's closer to Times Square? I'm pretty sure someone here mentioned that.

Thanks for the Junior's sugguestion! It is now in Times Sq, yummy cheesecake, and a retroish restaurant for a couple loving all things retro.

Stay away from Lindy's in Times Square--we were disappointed on our last trip. If Junior's is there now, that would be my first choice!

What about Joey Reynolds cheesecake?

There is a new Junior's right in the heart of the theater district on West 45th at Shubert Alley, between Broadway and 8th Avenue.
The cheesecake is excellent....and expensive!

Junior's cheesecake is wonderful.

I agree that Lindy's cheesecake is terrible. It seems like every other place around Times Sq is selling cheesecake to me, but I only like real dense cheesecake, and hate the stuff that is fluffy and like some Jello pudding mix (which is my idea of Lindy's).

I haven't been able to get into Carnegie's as it's too crowded, but the best cheesecake I've had around there is at Maxie's deli/restaurant at 723 7th ave (probably around 50th St). They sell whole cheesecakes at the area in the front.

Thank you thank you!

Just wanted to follow up with a cheesecake/trip report. We stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn which is a really good location on 8th Ave b/w 48th and 49th Sts - close enough to Times Sq. but without the Times Sq. noise. We were near a fire dept though....

We went to Juniors for dinner and cheesecake. The cheesecake really is the best. We could not stop talking about it. Many thanks for a great recommendation.

Another vote for Carnegie Deli. (They Fedex the stuff BTW, but I have too much self discipline to order one :D) But it rakes as the best I've ever eaten.
