Cheeburger Cheeburger restaurants...
There is a chain of restaurant's called Cheeburger Cheeburger. Has anyone here gone to one? How was it? There is one in Columbus, OH. Was thinking of going there next time I'm there.
You can make better burgers at home.
I have been looking after my Grandson one day a week during the Summer..so had my first experience of this chain. For a Grandmother it is hell on earth! It is chaos and not cheap. You buy tokens to play the games and win tickets back which you can exchange for tacky prizes. The food is mediocre at best...but it seems that the children really want to play games.
It is popular ..so some must like it. I think young Mothers take their families there ...your hands are stamped when you go in and the system is set up that you can only leave with someone who has the same number...so Mothers can sit and have a chat while the children run free. Good points. It is clean. Pizza reasonable for kids. The maze on the ceiling for children to crawl through is free and fun..but it is so long that a Grandma gets frightened when she cannot find Grandson and he has been gone some time!! |
The above reply sounds like Chunky Cheese (which is a true hell). The Cheeseburger, Cheeseburger we went to was nothing like that. It was pretty mediocre at best. Tastless burgers is about all I remember about the food. My DH paid the bill and commented we should have gone to Steak and Shake for half the money.
Mincepie does sound like she had the misfortune to go to Chucky Cheese - you have my sympathies. There is not enough migraine medicine and alcohol in the world to make a sane person tolerate places like that.
Sorry, if I made a mistake. Just blame it on senility....but if I maligned Cheeburger...apologies. Then don't go to Chucky Cheese..or whatever it is called!!
I agreed to take the kids to Chucky Cheese IF we just dropped any pretense of eating there. We used it as an arcade - and would eat before or after.
Mincepie - I hope your grandson appreciated your trip to wherever - you should get Grandmother-of-the-year for going there. Hope when he gets old enough he takes you out to a nice dinner somewhere - remind him of that.

Right Starrsville...that is what I would do next time. My Grandson is 5..think it might be better for an older child.
Gail...I guess I can keep dreaming??? |
Cheeburger Cheeburger is not that bad. Their milk shakes are very good; it is amazing the amount of flavors they have! My mother also really loves the egg creams.
Crappy burgers, great fries, good shakes.
In NJ you can build your own burger, but kids can't just run around. Wife doesn't have to cook + husband doesn't have to clean = good food :) |
In Chattanooga, I have eaten in 2 locations of Cheeburger Cheeburger. The downtown location I have always been pleased with. The other locations left a whooooooooole lot to be desired.
Now, I like the fact you can have them put whatever you want on your burger. And, I love frings....French fries and onion rings. Never have tasted one of their shakes, but they look great. Guess it's like any place....some days good, some days bad...some places good, some places bad. |
I guess the same thing can be said of Fodorville...or even Fodorites :-)
Yes, starrsville, I guess it can be said of Fodorville. But, I'm not sure what you meant or why you posted that comment on this thread.
Care to elaborate? |
No reason. Just read the last line and liked it.
It wasn't thread specific in any way other than it appeared on this thread.
Is this really the name of the place? I thought it was a double typo at first! Wonder what marketing genius thought up that name?! (I say that with a smile because I'm in the marketing field!)
I've eaten at the one in downtown Chattanooga (guess it's still there) and we thought it was great. I don't remember much about the fries, but the burger & shake were delicious
There's one on Sanibel, too. I believe it is the original and they are franchising. Wouldn't go out of my way to eat there, but I wouldn't avoid it and go out of my way either. You get what it sounds like: lot's of food, mostly burgers. Sit down service with a waitress, papertowel rolls on the table instead of napkins.
Ours here in Southlake, TX closed recently. It was right down the street from a Steak & Shake, and from Kincaid's (local place). I guess the food was not good enough to compete!
