Check in Ballys?,where to eat?
 

Do you know if I would have a better chance of getting a room upgrade at Ballys if I check in at airport or go on to hotel? Also, arriving tommorow night(Friday), do I need dinner reservations before we arrive?

Upgrade chances seem the same no matter where you check in.

Whether you need reservations depends on where you eat. What to recommend depends on what you like, how much you want to spend, etc. If you're going to eat somewhere upscale, then definitely try to get reservations today.

I think you might enjoy eating at another place rather than Bally's. The Bellagio has some wonderful places to eat, and it is not too far from Bally's. Check their web site. Also Paris is connected to Bally's by a long corridor. There are places to eat in that area. Since it for Friday, I think I might try getting a reservation.

There are a couple of good restaurants in Bally's if you would prefer to eat at your hotel the first night. Al Dente has good Italian food and Bally's Steakhouse is also good. I'm not sure if you will need reservations, but you may want to make them just to be safe.

We ate at Bally's steakhouse and IMO it was horrible. The steak was very fatty and the service was really, really bad. They might have gotten better, though. (We ate there about 6 mos. ago.) I haven't eaten at any other restaurants in Bally's. You do have the Bellagio and Paris very close, and they both have excellent restaurants.

Paris has a great buffet, and I don't get that excited over French food. They have a crepe station where they make them fresh. Yum! The lines can get long to get into the buffet, so be prepared.

If you want to eat at a sit down restaurant, reservations are usually necessary, unless you want to eat early or late. Many places will probably be booked through traditional eating hours for tomorrow. Have a great time in Vegas! =:)

I think you're missing out if you skip Al Dente. Homemade pastas and great Italian await you.

If you love prime rib, Lawry's, The Prime Rib is only a couple blocks away. You might be able to get reservations tomorrow night. Phone # is (702) 893-2223. I also love The Commander's Palace that is inside the Desert Passage that is adjacent to the Aladdin Casino. If you can't make it for dinner, you should try their breakfast.
