Cheapest flights from Memphis to New Orleans
 

South West don't fly from Memphis, but after discovering how cheap their flights were when compared with others on the net, I can't help thinking that I'm missing something in my search for cheap flights. So everyone: who does the cheapest flights from Memphis to New Orleans?

Unless you use Priceline, you're stuck with high fares. Northwest has a monopoly on the Memphis-N.O. route. You may check AirTran to see if they fly the route via Atlanta, but that will take several hours.

Northwest usually has pretty cheap fares from Memphis to New Orleans (nonstop around 50 min. each way).

I disagree. Memphis fares are outrageous for the distance traveled! You can fly Southwest from Nashville to New Orleans for $100 or so, but it's double that from Memphis. It stinks when one airline (in this case Northwest) controls a market!!!

You might also try Southwest fares out of Little Rock- about 2 hours away, it's closer than Nashville. There used to be a shuttle from Memphis to LR with really reasonable rates called the Betty Bus, so you wouldn't even have to drive. Good luck!

Dittos on the LR suggestion. Another cheap option is Amtrak which can also be quite a bit of fun although time consuming<BR><BR>
