Cheaper Rate for Luau?
 

We will be travelling to Maui in December and would like to take our family of five to the Old Lahaina Luau. However, the cost makes this too expensive - in Canadian dollars it will cost more than $600. Does anyone know if there are discount coupons available for this activity?

Might be wrong, but I don't think they discount.<BR>I've attended, and although it's fun, I'd really have second thoughts about the expense for a family of 5 if on a tight budget.

Marilyn run a search on this forum for "gold card".You'll find info on the AOA gold card.I used it for the luau a couple of years ago and saved $100 US on 4 tickets.

For $600, I would forgo the luaus. They are fun but not worth that kind of investment. Try to find out where the free hula shows are, as there are usually some each week at the local shopping centers etc.. Most hotels have free shows in their lounges or pool areas and you can find out about those too. The food at the luaus is ok but really for that kind of money you could take your family out to eat eat at a nice place. Have a nice time in Hawaii, but spend your $600 elsewhere.

Marilyn,<BR>Why don't you try www.hawaiiactivityworld.com. They offer discounts on the "Royal Lahaina Luau". It might not be as authentic as the OLL, but the money you'll save might be a good compromise. You didn't mention how old the kids are but there are certain nights where kids are free (children under 5 are always free). Kids might also enjoy seeing fire eaters. Coming from Canada, we're also in the same dilema (leaving in July). But I figure with the money we'll save, we can take the kids to Warren & Annabelle's Magic show (apparently it's not to be missed).
