Cheap Sanibel Accom. in July

Going to Sanibel in Jul. Would camp ($30/night), but for Fordorites comments on humidiy and thunderstorms. What's cheapest accomodation on Sanibel with A/C? Thanks.

Last I went there I was on a budget and I found West-End Paradise to have reasonable prices. I stayed there for a week and was very pleased. Its about a 5 minute walk to the beach in a mostly private residential area near the Ding. They are little cottages. The owners, Jennifer and Darwin were wonderful and went out of their way to make sure we enjoyed our stay. I can't recommend them enough.

Well it is cheap in July compared to Feb and March. (at least it was several years ago...I guess that may have changed) It's all relative.

But hey, if your moniker is cheap.... whatcha expect? LOL

I know of a cheap gulf-front place - about $750 a week (Forty Fifteen). But I think that will be too expensive for you given you were planning on camping.

The words "cheap" and "Sanibel" should not be used in the same sentence. You may want to stay off island if you are looking for cheap accommodations. Summer is less expensive than winter, but it isn't cheap. If camping, remember to pack insect repellent, the no-seeums are torture.
