cheap parking near O'Hare

We will be in Ireland July 29-Sep 2 and are trying to decide how to get to O'Hare and what to do with our car.

Using the airport shared shuttle from our home in a suburb of Milwaukee to/from O'Hare will cost around $350. When we've used them to/from the Milwaukee airport, we've never had anyone else in the van, but that's no guarantee.

One limo company will charge around $380 for a private car to/from our house and O'Hare.

Taking a cab to/from the bus from Milwaukee to/from O'Hare will cost about $180, take longer, and be less convenient.

As I poked around on the Internet, I found some sites that offer parking (usually at a hotel) for $6-$7 a day, which would come out to $216-$252, plus about $20 for gas and tolls.

I plan to call some of the hotels we've used for park-sleep-fly and ask what their rates would be just for parking. A number of years ago, a Marriott charged us $50 for 17 days of parking because DH is a Marriott Rewards member.

Any other ideas?

Coach USA bus would be cheapest

Park Sleep Fly deals are somewhere between $60 to $130 , the low end will be a 2 star w/outdoor parking & the high will be a 4 star with covered parking- 2 weeks included so at $5/day+for overage figure at least another $100

The econolot @ORD is $9 or so

Coach USA is the bus I referenced; we'd have to take a cab (probably $40 each way), as they don't permit parking there for more than 14 days.

I'll check parksleepfly; we've used them for hotels, but never just for parking. Since we won't be staying at the hotel (our flight is at 8PM), I don't really care about the star rating--so that could end up being the cheapest option.

Thanks for the suggestion.

How close to Milwaukee (or Milwaukee airport) do you live?
Both places have an Amtrak station served by the six Hiawatha trains per day to Chicago. The fare is $24 PP.
From Chicago Union Station to the "el" is about 5 blocks. You can get to Midway or O'Hare by riding the 'el'.

tomfuller, your plan doesn't suit us at all.

We live about 20 minutes north of DT Milwaukee. We'd have to take a cab (~$30 each way) to the DT train station, go WAY out of the way to DT Chicago, drag suitcases 5 blocks and then deal with luggage on the El. The trip would take hours and be a royal pain in the neck.

People who live in Chicago that don't own a car, typicly ride the el with their luggage to O'Hare.
Can you rent a car one way for less?
Check for a park-sleep-fly hotel and stay the night and have the hotel shuttle to O'Hare. parksleepfly.com
