Cheap Lobster - San Diego Area

Hello! I am planning on renting a condo this summer in the San Diego area. My husband and I have heard it is no longer safe to travel to Rosarito Beach for lobster. Is this true? If so, where can we find CHEAP lobster dinners in the area? We need your expertise. Thank you so much!

yes travel to Mexico is not as safe as previously ... if you travel in the daytime, it helps see potential problems coming

define cheap ...

If you're looking for cheap lobster IN San Diego...I don't think so.

For local lobster, October-March, try Point Loma Seafoods

However not available in summer!

Spiny lobster season doesn't start until October..
You want to eat things that are fresh and good and that would be some good Ahi tuna..have a fish taco and don't even think of going to Mexico!

Point Loma Seafoods, El Pescador or Blue Water for fresh fish.

Thanks for your suggestions! I one of those infamous, cheap Mexico lobster dinners will be out of the question for us this summer!

Lobster in California, unless it's flown in from Maine, isn't worth the money (IMHO, no lobster is worth it other than Maine lobster!).

(And lobster was the ONLY thing Rosarito Beach was good for :-) )
