Cheap Hotels in Maui
My best friend and I are traveling to Maui during May 2002 for one week. Both of us are going to be on a budget so we are looking for good hotel deals during that time period. We are looking to spend $125 or less per night. I have looked through the message board for this topic and have found some good ideas. But I was hoping to find more updated information and information from anyone who has traveled to Maui in May. I have heard that that time period is the off-season. Please let me know if you have any suggestions.

One option for inexpensive lodging is to stay at a hostel. They have one on Maui that offers both dorm style bunk rooms, as well as private rooms. They also offer daily shuttle bus excursions at no cost (just tip the driver). Maui's an expensive place...expensive food and drinks, etc, so plan to bring some energy bars, beef jerky and peanut butter to cut down on some of your meal costs.

You may want to purchase an Entertainment Card at www.entertainment.com

I have spent less than $125 at Aston HOtels and Outrigger hotesl and at the Renaissance Wailea with the card. Good luck. It helps to ask any hotel if they take the card. Many times they do but are not listed in the publication.

You may also want to consider a cottage or apt. rental. I found an absolutely perfect beachfront cottage on Oahu for $100/night - but it took me 6 mos. of researching to find it. We also saved a lot of money by having a kitchen to fix some of our own meals.....

try http://www.crhmaui.com/ lot of low end condos if you search on maui travel

Pleasant Island Holidays has a website check out their hotels. I would also call Roberts Hawaii. I remember staying at an airconditioned condo 1 bedroom for $80 per night in the mid nineties. I think this was the Maui Islander not sure very close to Lahaina.
