Cheap helicopter tours over NYC
We are looking at doing a tour of the NYC. we did this in hawaii and loved it! The man that took us was retired and this was just his hobby. Does anyone know anything like that
Thanks |
Up in the air, I would go for safety rather than "cheap."
In 1963, as I watched a friend take off for a helicopter tour of NYC, the door next to her swung open when the craft was about 200 feet in the air. My friend reached out and closed the door. She had a good time; I was disturbed about possibly losing her. HTTY |
I agree w/Htty, not exactly a place where I would want to cut corners. I'd be looking @ safety records & such 1st. If you are that cost conscious, NYC provides plenty to do.

The situation you are looking for won't happen. There are no old guys keeping helicopters in their backyards in New York City and taking tourists on unlicensed tours over the East River. New York City has more than 8,000,000 people, is within the most congested flight path in the United States, was the primary target of the 9-11 terrorists, and has the second-most protected airspace in the country after Washington DC.
Cost-conscious and helicopter touring are two concepts that are hard to connect. You'll easily drop at least $140+ per person as the fee for a 15-minute tour plus heliport fees of $20-30. |
Visit the 102nd floor of the Empire State Building. It is safer, cheaper, and you will have a longer time enjoying the view

The top of 30 Rock, too.

Okay thanks
