Cheap Flights thread

Post cheap flights from Charlotte here please. I'm looking for cheap weekend getaways to the Caribbean, San Diego, Miami, and more on Independence Air, Air Tran, US Airways, etc.

check the Independence Air website, flyi.com, they just announced a bunch of new flights to Charlotte.

Posting cheap flights isn't very helpful - by the time you see them, they're likely to be gone. It's better for you to learn to find them.

So, go to travelocity and look at their dream maps section. There, you can put in a maximum flight price, and a starting point, and it will show you all possible destinations.

Also, go to travelocity and sign up for the flight watcher emails. You can choose up to 5 destinations, and it will email you when the price changes.

Also all the airlines have websites and the prices there are cheaper than you can get on their "800" lines, so try there as well.

www.usair.com
www.cheaptickets.com
to name a couple.

Have a great time.

www.kayak.com is a good fare search engine - often finding lower fares than those available on travelocity. They are not a ticket selling service - they're a search engine. If you see a flight that interests you, you click on it and Kayak redirects you to the site offering that fare.

Hi NDrake..
I live in CLT also, and have to deal with the ridiculously high airfares. A great site for last minute deals (2 weeks or later out) is site59.com. Type in CLT as your departure city, and it will bring up all destinations and their rates. It is usually flight/hotel deals or flight/rental car.

Charlotte is one of the most expensive airports in the country. Drive or take the train the Greensboro or Durham and fly from there. RDU has numerous flights and now it is no longer a hub, it is one of the least expensive airports.
