Cheap DVD's in NYC?
Where can I find a large collection of DVD's in New York City? It would help if the prices were low, also ... :)

If you buy from the streets, beware because it might be a scam. I know of people who have bought cheap videos of new release movies that havent even hit the cinemas yet, but ended up with blank copies.
If its too good to be true, it usually is.
Good luck!

You are very likely to get scammed buying from street vendors. Not just blank tapes, but also ones of extremely poor quality, which were actually made by someone bringing a camera into a theater and filming! No joke! Stick to the legitimate businesses. Watch out for anyone of place selling them at ridiculously low prices. The old adage applies: You get what you pay for.

Oops, that last sentence should read, "anyone OR place."

You will not be able to beat the internet prices and selection in NYC. The only thing that comes close is the guy on lower Broadway near city hall. He sells current releases for $15 ea., all legit copies. He also sells software books so you'll know who he is but he doesn't always have DVD's. Sometimes he has playstation 2 games. Blowout Video in Times Square has a decent selection at fair prices, but again, better value can be had on the net.
