Cheap-chic shopping in NY?

Only have 1 day in new york with my 17 year old daughter. We have done all of the sights so we want to shop till we drop but not spend a fortune or spend the day on the subway. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Century 21

I like H+M. There are 2 stores--the one near SoHo has a little less than the other.

Try down 34th Street between 5th and 8th Avenues...a lot of stores including 2 H&M's and there is also Manhattan Mall on 6th Avenue.

Century 21 for upscale brands at fire sale prices; H+M for trendy stuff on the cheap.

While I love Century 21, stuff can still be expensive. Think $800 Fendi bag priced at $200 at Century 21. I also think H&M has great prices on cool clothes.

Century 21 does have $800 things for $200 -- but it also has a LOT of $200 things for $20-40, and there is a whole juniors floor I think. Or half a floor.

Other thing -- Elizabeth Street betwen Houston and Prince Streets

Mott Street between Houston and Prince Streets

-- really beautiful little boutiques with stuff you really don't find elsewhere. The feeling of these blocks is European.

Also 9th Street between First Ave and Second Ave, and Seventh Street betwen 1st Ave & 2nd Ave.
