Cheap accomodations in New Orleans

I am trying to find a hotel room for $100 in NO, LA for the week between Christmas and New Years and haven't had success. Any ideas?

HI, I am from New Orleans. It's expensive. The best place for you to stay is in the French Quarter The Marie-Antoinette (on Conti), is nice but not the most expensive. DO NOT STAY IN NEW ORLEANS EAST, OR THE WESTBANK (of the mississippi river). The cheapest hotels are there, but you won't like the area, trust me. Metairie is the suburb of choice if you resort to that.
BARRY

See the thread I just topped for you called "A CHEAP HOTEL!?!!" The poster was wandering about NO hotels in the $100-$150 range and got some good responses. Whatever you do stay in the FQ. A hotel room is a place to sleep, better it is close to the sights and convenient than have top of the line amenities.

Michael, what about B&Bs? You can research Bed and Breakfasts (many under $100) at one of two directories: www.marigny.net for B&Bs in the French Quarter area and www.bbnola.com for inns citywide.
