Charlottesville Hotels

Can anyone compare the Charlottesville Doubletrre and Omni? The Doubletree is significantly less money - is it only because of the location, or are the rooms and service that much better at Omni?

Also, anyone know about the Hampton Inn at UVa? It's also alot more than the Doubletree, and I thought Doubletree was higher up in the Hilton brands.

If you have the money, go for the Omni. The rooms are nicer than the DoubleTree. DoubleTree's lobby area, pool and restaurant are nice but the rooms aren't great (on the level of a Comfort/Days Inn). Omni rooms are nicer. Omni is also well located on the Downtown Mall. Ice skating rink, neat shops and restaurants as well as close to the UVA campus. Doubletree is several miles away on a very busy highway. I don't have any info on the Hampton Inn.

Why not stay at a BnB? The Keswick Inn is fabulous --just outside of Charlottesville....

Andy, the Keswick should be fabulous- I just fainted over the nightly rates- next time give us a warning before I spend the time looking it up!

The Omni is nicer and much better located - not really a contest.

The Hampton Inn is probably nicer also, and also better located, in my opinion. It is quite new and probably in better condition.

Sleep inn is fine also. just spent 2 nights there. If not looking for a resort or fancy place. Right off of Rt 64. good location. free breakfast, some chain restaurants in the area.
