Charlotte to Orlando driving time

How long does it take (realistically) to drive from Charlotte NC to the Orlando airport? There will be two adults and two small children under 5. The travel and map sites say anything from 9 to 13 hours. Just wondering if anyone has made this trip recently and can provide a reasonable estimate, with bathroom and food stops, and any current construction delays. We’ll be picking others up at the Orlando airport at 3PM, before heading to our rental house in Clermont. Wonder when we need to be on the road. Thanks so much!

It takes us exactly 8 hours from Charlotte to "The Villages" with several pitstops, but food stops NOT included. We're 1 1/2 hrs. north of Orlando Airport but drive on surface roads from I 10 which means it takes us 3 hrs. from Jacksonville due to the speedtraps along Rt. #301. It should take you about the same time assuming you drive on I 95 to Daytona and then I 4.

There is some construction along the way in So. Carolina and Georgia. We just made this trip 2 weeks ago, but travel on weekends to avoid construction sites. Have a safe trip and enjoy some OJ at the Florida Welcome Center!
