charlotte, NC - Places/Things to see..
 

I am going to be in the charlotte area for a few days and was wondering if there were any places or things to do that would be interesting. Art, Shopping, sight seeing etc.... any suggestions? I will be staying about 30 minutes south just over the SC border so anything in that general vicinity would be great... any suggestions would be much appreciated. THANX!!!

Discovery Place is currently featuring "A Day in Pompeii". I have tickets for a visit on Friday and will be glad to post a review if that interests you.
I like the shopping in Charlotte very much. South Park is my favorite area, but it is mainly the bigger stores.

If you like amusement parks, check out Carowinds. If you're interested in botanical gardens, check out the Daniel Stowe Botanical Gardens (I think that's the name).

You mentioned art. You may want to see if any current exhibits at the Mint Museums interest you.
