Charley & Bonnie
How much damage was done to the St Augustine area? also Appalachacola and Ocala? We're planning a trip in mid Sept and wondering if we should delay it to give more time for clean up. All the info I have seen is from the Punta Gorda area but wondered if tornados and lesser winds and rains damaged the areas we were planning to visit? thanks for any help.

My mother lives near Ocala and she said that they didn't get hit by the hurricanes - Not even any rain. Don't know about the other places.

Thanks for your help LizQ. That helps with our planning.

St. Augustine should be fine, the area didnt get affected much at all by either storm, just some rain & wind. 30 min south in Flagler Beach, they are still cleaning up but you should be ok anywhere on the east coast for a mid-sept trip.

Thanks again for the help. That takes care of all locations except for Appalachicola. Any damage there?

My understanding is that they escaped damage as well. This is precisely why VisitFlorida's ad campaign is important, for those who participated in the past discussion!
