Charleston with teenagers

We will be Charleston for a week with 17 year olds. I am looking for suggestions for shopping that would appeal to that age bracket. I do not mean name brand/mall style stores, but some shops that might have some fun clothes etc for teens. Also any other suggestions for things to do are welcome. Thanks

I think the shops on Church Street would probably do nicely. I would strongly suggest a visit to the very nice Visitors Center. This place is very lovely and is a wealth of advice.

Do you mean the shops on King Street?

Girls or boys? The market area has tons of jewelry, purses, etc. I can't help you for boys.

Take them to the beach.

There are lots of neat shops on King Street, in and near the Charleston Place Hotel, a couple on the market and over by the Vendue Inn. The shoe shops on King are terrific. Skirt Magazine has trendy girl things listed in their publication along with what shop they're from. They're on the web at www.skirtmag.com. I'm pretty sure there's some good shopping in Mt. Pleasant, but I'm not familiar with specifics there. If you have boys, I hate to say there are fewer selections. Any interests or hobbies might get more suggestions of where to head. With a college right in town you're bound to find things acceptable to teens.

I am sorry for the assumption shopping = female, but I only have daughters. BUT thank you for the advice. We spent the day on King/Market area and it was just what we were looking for.
