Charleston Sightseeing Bus Tours - difference between the two?
 

Hi all
I am visiting Charleston at the beginning of November from overseas, and have been looking into the sightseeing tours that are available. Could anyone help me decide which is better from either the 'Adventure Sightseeing Tour' (Tour B) company or the 'Doin' the Charleston' Bus Tour company?

Also, has anyone combined the 'Adventure Sightseeing Tour' with a trip to Fort Sumter (Tour D), is this a good way of seeing all these things? Or should I make my own way to Fort Sumter on another day?

I think we will proceed with the Adventure Sightseeing Bus Tour that includes a 90 min city tour plus a trip to Fort Sumter.

Has anyone been on this combination trip? Did you have enough time to explore Fort Sumter?

"Which is better" depends largely on who is the leader of the tour you happen to join. Good luck on the draw.

Sorry you've not had much response to your question. Bus tours are not as popular in Charleston as in some larger destinations. Walking tours and carriage tours get a bigger following in Charleston.

Just returned from Charleston approx. 3 weeks ago. This was our 2nd trip. When my husband and I were there approx. 5 years ago, we took the Greyline bus tour which we enjoyed. This time we took the "Doin Charleston Tour". Tour leaves from the Visitors Center. Our tour guide/driver was Marvin. After the tour, I realized he's the guy on the brochure cover so he may be the owner with the one bus. That being said, we thoroughly enjoyed the tour. I think it was about 90 minutes. He shared many stories of the history of Charleston. I don't recall that much Charleston history on the Grey Line tour. There's a small TV on board and Marvin showed inside photos of many of the historical houses we passed. He was personable and friendly. I would highly recommend his tour.

Also highly recommend Coast Resturant near the Visitor's Center. It's down an alley. Great seafood and steaks. Must try the Mojitos, best we've ever had.
