Charleston - Savannah Trip - Reschedule
I planned a trip to Charleston and Savannah for the very end of April.
I selected that time for: Low precipitation Warm but not hot, humid weather and relatively long days. It appears I'm going to have to cancel that trip. I'd like to reschedule for the fall. Will mid-October be more or less equivalent weather? Any time periods to avoid? Thanks. |
Fall weather is gorgeous.
I can't think of any time periods to avoid. |
Nope. It's a great time to visit.

Honestly, the only "caution" times I can think of are -
1) hot, humid summers - but many of us enjoy those too 2) St Patrick's Day in Savannah - or the weekend of the parade 3) Spoleto Festival in Charleston in the spring - sometimes hard to get reservations in town Other than that, almost any time is a good time to visit Savannah/ Charleston. Can anyone think of anything else? |
starrs,
We live in Florida so we know about hot and humid. However, we were in Tusacny the end of June last year and walking around all day in the heat was a bit of an effort. Still, I'll take the sunny, hot weather over cloudy/rainy and cool. But from what I see at weather.com, the hot and humid of the summer seems to also have a lot of rain. I'll know about cancelling in a week of so. I guess mid-October will be fine. Thanks. |
Myer, I don't think so (re summer rain). In fact, we've had several years of drought conditions. Afternoon rains are common in any humid environment (Florida, Hawaii, etc) but I don't think of summer = rain.
When I think Georgia rain, for ME that would be spring rains and December. It seems to be cold and rainy a lot during the prep for the holidays. But anyway, October should be glorious. |
