OK: here're some specifics. We like restaurants that aren't overly loud, i.e. where we can enjoy each other's conversation. Like great service, but great "real" attention, not "pretentious" service. Love terrific food and will probably order specialties or fish-- not fond of beef. Not big on desserts (love unusual salads). Does this narrow the choice?

Another vote for Magnolia's! When in doubt, you can't go wrong there. Also love S.N.O.B, but I think it's a little more crowded (table-wise) and noisy.

We've eaten at all three and I always think of the Peninsula Grill as being one notch above the other two, in terms of formality. We've only eaten at Magnolia's and SNOB once each and we've been to the Peninsula Grill three times. The food at all three is great and each one has a slightly different atmosphere. I think SNOB is probably the loudest of the three, just because of the way their dining room is set up. It has a more urban feel to it, in terms of decor. Magnolia's (in my opinion) looks like a dining room out of Southern Living magazine, mostly pinks, greens, and creams. The one time we ate there, we were seated at a table with a banquette and were practically involved the next table's conversation. Peninsula Grill has something of the same problem, with a row of tables against a banquette. The time we were seated on that wall, again, we were sharing conversation with our neighbors...not necessarily a bad thing, but some people don't enjoy that. Some of the other tables are much more private, or if the weather is nice, you could request to sit in their lovely courtyard.

To me, all three are excellent choices. Peninsula Grill has become our go to restaurant for anniversaries, so it feels more "special occasion" to me. However, I would just go online and take a look at their menus and see which one appeals to you the most. I don't think you can go wrong with any of them.

Magnolias or the Peninsula. Peninsula we found a little more expensive. Magnolias is my favorite having dined there quite a number of times over the years. Love their fried chicken with fresh corn.

I've only eaten at Magnolia's & Peninsula Grill. Both were really great, food wise. I'd probably rate Magnolia's slightly higher for our tastes. However, at Peninsula Grill, we were able to dine outside in the enclosed courtyard by candlelight which was quieter & a much more intimate atmosphere.
