charleston or new orleans
 

My husband and I are planning a trip in the fall to either Charleston or New Orleans. We are looking for a trip with great hotels, food and great nightlife and a little romance. The crime rate in New Orleans scared us off a bit but we are just not sure Charleston offers the activites and nightlife we are looking for. Thoughts?

Take a look at my trip report which I completed today. We stayed in the French Quarter (only venturing away from the FQ to the Garden District) in NO and felt 100% safe, no problems in these areas. Just be aware of your surroundings. And this is from someone who is a bit of a scaredy cat! There are many romantic restaurants too, as written about in my report. I would say New Orleans, but I havent been to Charleston, so maybe I am biased! If you click on 'EnglishOne' my report will be there.
