GoT nailed it when she compared grits to cream of wheat. Texture and appearance are similar, grits have a bit more punch. My favorite version is at Magnolia's, lobster, shrimp and scallops with grits. Wonderful. Charleston is fantastic. John, your wife is going to love her surprise.
