Charleston Ghost tours

has anyone taken the 'Haunted Harbor Ghost & Pirate Tour' in Charleston? What did you think of it?

While I was in Charleston last spring I had a conversation with a guide at one of the historic houses who told me that she is sometimes gets a chance to do a ghost tour. She thinks they're a crock, but the money is good.

My personal opinion: Ghosts don't exist, and I have no respect for anybody who promotes the idea of ghosts for any reason other than Halloween of haunted house type play.

A Charleston "ghost" tour is really about folklore, legend, and social history. It's also good excuse to stroll around the beautiful historic district in the evening.

We enjoyed evening strolls in the historic district at no cost and without the risk of finding ourselves in the company of a guide or tour group member we would have avoided if we had known about them before booking.

i am amused when people want to take a ghost tour. Do they really think they'll see one?

There are some great books about ghosts in Chucktown. I say read one, then walk around to the spots mentioned.
