Charleston - Bed & Breakfast Help

Hi all,

My boyfriend and I are taking a last minute trip to SC in a few weeks, and we're going to spend two nights in Charleston (5/25 and 5/26). We'd like to stay in a small B&B in the historical district, and we're looking to pay ~$150/night.

I'm considering the Palmer House B&B or the Palmer's Pinckney Inn. I didn't find much information on this board about either, so I'd love it if anyone has feedback. We were particularly interested in the location of Palmer House and what appear to be the fantastic views. (The room that is available is the Magnolia Suite).

Alternatively, would welcome other suggestions for B&Bs that people feel strongly about. Thanks in advance, we really appreciate it!

(By the way, I know a lot of places will be full since we're waiting til the last minute to book, this is sort of a spur of the moment getaway).

You need to book quickly. The Spoleto Festival starts on 5/27, and everything will be booked solid. So if either of those places have availablity take it.

Thanks Suewoo! I'm planning to book as soon as possible. Do you have any opinions on whether these are nice places to stay?

Thanks in advance!

Sorry, no. I live here so I never stay anywhere but my house, lol. But I've seen them-they are both very nice and well-located. I'd probably pick Palmer House just for the view alone. Hope you have a great time.

Hi there.
If you want to be steps away from lots of bars and restaurants (and horse carriage companies) - and the City Market http://thecharlestoncitymarket.com/ , then go with the Pinckney.
If you want to be in a very nice (but tourist-heavy) residential area, then the Palmer House would be best.
Charleston will be (and already is) very, very busy - but beautiful :)
I'm sure you'll enjoy either place.
Looks as though Palmer's Pinckney Inn is next to one of my favorite lunch spots - Cru Cafe :) http://crucafe.com/

I concur! I haven't been there in a while. Love their General Tso's.

Thanks so much!

ephillips10 - I hope you get your trip booked and that you'll let us know how it goes!
suewoo - I haven't had that. I can rarely move beyond the Chinese Chicken Salad! ♥

Right. I'm always interested in people's experiences with accomodations since I never stay in any of those places.

My lanana's fixin' to bloom! So is everything else.

We stayed at the Pinckney Inn last week and I would definitely recommend it.

It's also around the corner from Hank's and a short walk to Fleet Landing.

I just checked on a map where Palmer House is located.

Be aware that there are absolutely no restaurants South of Broad.
