Charleston Accomodations and Restaurants

My husband and I are going to enjoy a one night respite from our children and are taking a short road trip to Charleston. We have stayed at Charleston Place with our kids before, but would love to try a nice fun place more adult oriented. We currently have reservations at the Vendue Inn. Any other suggestions? Also, where would you recommend for a great dinner and lunch the next day. Thanks so much for your help.

Lucy

WE got the Renaissance in the historic district for $65 on Priceline for Memorial Day weekend. I love 82 Queen St. and Poogan's Porch.

Eat at Rue de Jean-oops, I mean dine, you won't be sorry. Also, Blossoms is good.

We ate at Carolina's on our honeymoon in 97. Gourmet and nice. We were only there for a night, however, since we were departing for Europe. So we stayed in a cheap hotel and rented a jeep to jet about town in for the evening. It was great fun. Saw several waterfront locales for B&B's but didn't get any names. Good luck.

I would second the recommendation of Slightly North of Broad.
