Central Park Hostel..heard about/seen it?
 

I am going to be in NYC for 8 days, 6 of them alone, 2 with a friend in July. We booked beds at the Central Park Hostel. It's pretty new so I haven't been able to find much reviewing it in guidebooks, but the little I can find online seems to deem it an ok place. <BR> <BR>Anyone out there stayed there, seen it or heard about it? I don't want to be up a creek and HAVE to stay there if it's horrid, especially if I'm alone. <BR> <BR>Kelly <BR>(20/F/Canada)

There was an most unfavorable posting about the Central Park Hostel in April. Do a search here under "Central Park Hostel" and you can get the details.

Kelly what is the address and we can at least give you an idea of the area it is in, safe at night and all. <BR> <BR>

Try posting on lonelyplanet.com on their thorntree. Much more of a hostel crowd over there.

Thanks for the help folks. All I can say after reading the review is "Oh God". I had some reservations over the experience I had over the phone, and will now be changing my plans. I'm glad I followed my gut instinct and looked into this a little more. <BR>
